Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ and Humphrey walk out of a room with a television ("GOP Convention Coverage"). Caption: “Let's Go to a Movie, There's Nothing on TV”. Artist signature lower right: "Roberts”.
Historical NoteIn August 1968, the Republican National Convention was held in Miami Beach and nominated Richard Nixon for president and Spiro Agnew for vice president. Nixon won the nomination after getting more votes than Nelson Rockefeller and Ronald Reagan, who came in second and third place respectively.
