Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ sits on a trapeze swing above a donkey and elephant in a circus ring. Another man (“Bobby”) ("LBJ Campaign Worker") has jumped off LBJ's head and hangs on his waist, pulling him into an insecure position. Caption: “With the Greatest of Ease?”. Artist signature lower right: "Sandeson”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower center: “To - President Lyndon Johnson with kindest regards - Bill Sandeson”. Handwritten at lower center: “5 ⅝”” “Mon NS” “Ed Cartoon”.
Historical NoteRobert F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson each represented a different side to the Democratic Party in the 1960s. Robert Kennedy was the Attorney General under his brother’s administration and became a New York senator during Johnson’s presidency. He disagreed with Johnson’s Vietnam policy and became a prominent war critic. Kennedy would later run for president in 1968 as an anti-war Democratic candidate until his assassination in June 1968.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
