Physical Description

The scoreboard shows behind them shows the White House with 27 runs, 21 home runs, while Congress is 0 across the board and 2 strikes in the bottom of 9th inning. The U.S. Capitol and Washington Monuments are visible in the background. Caption reads: "...Sandy Who...?". Artist signature lower left: "Conrad © The Los Angeles Times, 1965 1965, The Register and Tribune Syndicate".
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten across bottom: "With best regards to President Lyndon B. Johnson. Paul F. Conrad"
Historical NoteSandy Koufax, who pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1955-1966, could be considered one of the best professional baseball pitchers ever. This cartoon implies that LBJ's legislative record was even more stunning than Koufax's record in baseball.
