Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ stands in a wagon cracking a whip over a man ("90th Congress") hitched to the front of the wagon. Arrows ("Inflation”, “Riots”, “The War") fly all around. Caption: “Giddap! Ah Say!”. Artist signature lower right: "Bob Stevens”. A small piece of paper “Copley Newspapers” adhered to the lower right.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: [blue] “Best wishes to our president from the San Diego Union Bob Stevens”. Handwritten at lower right: “9/21/67”. Handwritten at lower left: [underline] [upside-down] “47”.
Historical NoteThe Johnson Administration submitted 87 bills to Congress, and Johnson signed 84, or 96%, arguably the most successful legislative agenda in US congressional history.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
