Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Drum major LBJ prepares to lead a band and says, “Yaw-ward ho!!”. A woman ("Miss Democracy") rides a donkey in the direction of a sign ("Indiana, Illinois, Tenn. + Kentucky"). In the background, one of the band members holds a sign ("Reelect your friend and mine. Joe Blow LBJ". Caption: “Start Up the Band!”. Additional text across the top: "‘I do recognize this is election year’ … L.B.J.". Artist signature lower left: "Alexander.”.
