Historical NoteIn many political cartoons, Lyndon Johnson is depicted wearing cowboy boots and a cowboy hat, a part of his Western persona. In this cartoon, LBJ uses a cattle brand on his political opponent. This cartoon conveys how Johnson was efficient in running the country and winning against his opponents.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
