Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ puts on his tie in front of the mirror and comments to Lady Bird, "Wasn't that non-political weekend trip to the North-east exhilarating, Lady Bird? Next week-end how about a non-political jaunt to the North-west, and following that, another to-". In the lower right corner, a cat looks at three suitcases, two of which are marked “LBJ” and the last is marked “JHR.” The cat says, “JHR?”. Caption: “News Item: President Contemplates Further Tours”. Artist signature lower right: "Vic Runtz news ‘66”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower left: [blue] “3 col line Ed Page Tues [Aug 23, ‘66]”. Handwritten at lower right: [blue] “(picked up by mistake - Gov. Reed’s luggage)”.
Historical NoteThe 1966 elections elected the members of the 90th Congress as well as several gubernatorial seats. President Johnson traveled to stump for Democratic candidates.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
