Artist signature lower right: "Frank Williams”. Additional text at lower center: “Detroit Free Press -‘66”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at center left: "To President Lyndon B. Johnson from an admirer, Frank Williams June 4 - ‘66". Handwritten across the bottom: "-Thought you might find it interesting to know that Senator Fulbright requested this same original. -Frank Williams".
Historical NoteIn April 1966, Barry Goldwater criticized the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and its chairman J. William Fulbright, for the Committee’s hearings on Vietnam and China. Robert McNamara was the Secretary of Defense.
