Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Train engineer LBJ is leaning out of a train ("R.R. Strike Settlement") speeding down the track. The train is flying a "November Special" flag. Caption reads: "...And Not a Stall-In in Sight!". Artist signature lower left: "Gib Crockett Washington Star".
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten across bottom: "3 cols - Fri Apr. 24 - '64", "18"", "51" [circled], "A-8".
Historical NoteIn April 1964, President Johnson ended a 5-year dispute over railroad industry, giving a raise to about half of the workers in the union as well as other benefits and averting a strike.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
