Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ enters his office to find a man ("Labor") with a paper ("Strike Crises") in his pocket. The man speaks to LBJ while sitting in LBJ's chair with his feet on his desk and filing his nails with a carpenter's file. Caption: “You Said to Drop in Anytime, Remember?”. Artist signature lower right: "L.D. Warren”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower center: “33 ½ picas” “Fri 20 Nov 64”.
Historical NotePresident Johnson had the backing of many labor unions and Johnson often intervened in labor disputes and strikes to help negotiate a settlement. Meanwhile Vice President Humphrey was a liberal that co-founded the Americans for Democratic Action and had the support of many labor activists. Lester Pearson was the prime minister of Canada and Harold Wilson was the prime minister of the United Kingdom.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
