Historical NoteJack Valenti was an advisor to President Johnson. In 1966, he left the White House to be the president of the Motion Picture Association of America. In 1968, he would later create the MPAA rating system, replacing the Hays Code.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
