Historical NoteAs a part of Lyndon Johnson’s 1966 Asia Trip, the Manila Summit was a meeting between the leaders of eight nations (the United States and the seven nations Johnson visited on this trip) to discuss the Vietnam War and possible peace talks.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
