Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. A group of men ("LBJ's Election Observers") watch a man (identifiable as Nguyen Cao Ky) lighting a cigar for a barefoot peasant. One man holds a pair of binoculars. Caption: “Looks Normal to Me!”. Artist signature lower right: "Roberts".
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: [circle] [red] “525”.
Historical NoteIn September 1967, South Vietnam held an election resulting in the victory of Nguyen Van Theiu as president and Nguyen Cao Ky as vice president. The election brought an end to Ky’s term as prime minister in a military junta that governed South Vietnam since 1965.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
