Historical NoteIn March 1967, Lyndon Johnson met with South Vietnamese leaders to discuss the end of the war. At this point, South Vietnam had finished drafting a new constitution and would soon prepare for a national election. Nguyen Cao Ky was the prime minister of South Vietnam.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
