Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Lucy from Peanuts with the face of a man (“Wilson”) talks to Charlie Brown from Peanuts with the face of LBJ. LBJ holds the tangled string of a kite ("Vietnam Negotiation Efforts") that has landed in a tree. Caption: “You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown”. Additional text at lower right: “Apologies to Charles M. Schulz”. Artist signature lower right: "Le Pelley”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: “52.7” “a”.
Historical NoteHarold Wilson, the prime minister of the United Kingdom from 1964-1970, did not offer military aid to the United States during the Vietnam War, but he did not condemn American actions.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
