Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ holds cards ("Vietnam") while playing poker. Another man (“Wilson”) who wears only a barrel ("Britain") and smokes a pipe peers over LBJ's shoulder and talks to him. A small piece of paper “McNaught Syndicate, Inc.” adhered to lower center. Caption: “Now, If I Were Playing That Hand–”. Artist signature lower left: "Reg Manning”.

Historical NoteHarold Wilson, the prime minister of the United Kingdom from 1964-1970, did not offer military aid to the United States during the Vietnam War, but he did not condemn American actions.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
