Physical DescriptionWhite gold cuff links with 22 x 18mm oval amethyst in four-prong mounting. Mountings form a regular abstract border. Amthysts are well-cut, very dark with color in distinct zones. Given together with a mathching tie clasp (1966.55.6 B).
Historical NoteThese cuff links were given together with a matching tie clasp to President Johnson by His Excellency Chung Hee Park, President of the Republic of Korea during their 1966 Asia Trip that included joint attendance at the Manila Summit Conference in the Philippines.

Custodial History NoteThis item was a gift from a foreign official to President Lyndon B. Johnson during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
