Physical DescriptionMustard yellow silk satin evening gown. Strapless. Large self bow attached to left back. Wrap construction. Side zipper. Boned with silk lining. Worn with matching stole 1976.1.6 B.
Historical NoteMrs. Johnson wore this dress to state dinners for Canada (January 21, 1964) and for the United Kingdom (December 7, 1964), before loaning it to the Smithsonian Institution for their display of First Lady dresses. In 1968, it was replaced in the exhibit with her 1965 Inaugural Ball gown.
