Physical DescriptionPrint reproduction of cartoon drawing. Frame 1: A man under a banner (“Boat Show”) puts his hand on a boat motor and says to another man, “I will now demonstrate!”. Frame 2: The men watch as the machine makes noise. The man demonstrating the motor is confused. Frame 3: The man demonstrating the motor says, “It figured!!” while they both look at the inside of the motor and see litter inside. Caption: “Fan Fare”. Additional text at upper right: “By Walt Ditzen”. Artist signature lower right: “Walt Ditzen”.
Historical NotePresident Johnson signed several laws protecting water quality in 1965 such as the Water Quality Act, Water Resource Planning Act, Water and Sanitation Systems in Rural Areas Bill, and the Sale Water Conservation Act.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
