Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: “With every good wish to President Johnson, Sincerely, Ed Kuekes”. Printed at lower right: “The 1953 Pulitzer Prize Cartoon By Edward D. Kuekes, Cleveland Plain Dealer.”.
Historical NoteIn 1971, the Twenty-Sixth Amendment lowered the voting age from 21 to 18 in response to criticism of the government drafting young men that were not old enough to vote.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
