Frame 2: The man talks on the phone while eating and a man brings him another phone to answer. Frame 3: The man reaches for a ringing phone as he lies in a hospital bed and a man puts a stethoscope to his heart. Frame 4: A phone lies on the man’s grave. Historical NotePresident Johnson used the telephone a lot while in office and recorded about 800 hours worth of conversations. Like he was in real life, Johnson was skilled at negotiating over the telephone.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
