Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ holds a teapot ("4-Point Asiatic Peace Policy -- Fine Cooperative Blend") ready to pour into three cups with a dove design. Two men (“Ho”, “Mao”) sit passively at the table. Artist signature lower right: "Temple”.Historical NotePresident Johnson desperately wanted to get Ho Chi Minh to meet him for a peace talk, but Minh always refused. LBJ felt that if he could just get Ho Chi Minh to a negotiating table, he could use the "Johnson Treatment" to settle the war. Hence, the dove (peace) cups and sour expressions on Ho Chi Minh’s and Mao's faces.Additional Details
