Forbes Burnham was a Guyanese political leader who helped establish the People's Progressive Party (PPP) in 1950 and the People's National Congress (PNC) in 1957. Burnham served as Prime Minister of Guyana from 1964 to 1980 and as the President from 1980 to 1985.
