Errol Barrow founded the Democratic Labour Party of Barbados in 1955 and served as the Premier of Barbados from 1961 to 1966. Barrow was elected as Barbados' first Prime Minister in 1966 and was re-elected in 1985. In 1968, Barrow met with President Lyndon B. Johnson at the White House.
