Headquartered in Washington D.C., the Department of Veteran’s Affairs is a cabinet-level executive branch office charged with providing lifelong health care services to eligible veterans. There are some 170 VA clinics and facilities throughout the country. Besides health care, the VA assists with disability benefits, housing and pension assistance, careers and employment.
