Field Enterprises

This was a major media company headquartered in Chicago and originally owned by the Marshall Field family. Among its properties were the Chicago Daily News, Chicago Sun-Times, World Book Encyclopedia, book publisher Simon and Schuster, and several radio stations. In the 1980s, the Field Family dismantled Field Enterprises after deciding to get out of the media business.
