Ronald Reagan was the Republican governor of California from 1967 to 1975 and the 40th President of the United States from 1981 to 1989. Reagan, dubbed the "Great Communicator," served two-term as president. Reagan is credited with securing a nuclear weapons reduction pact with the Soviets and hastening the end of the Cold War.
