Edna F. Kelly

American, 1906 - 1997
Research Director for the New York State Legislature (1943-1949)
U.S. Representative from New York (1949–1969)

Edna Kelly was the first woman elected to the House of Representatives from Brooklyn, New York. She was initially appointed to fill the position left behind by Andrew Somers, and afterwards was elected for ten consecutive terms from 1943 until 1969.
