Pat Nixon served as the Second Lady of the United States from 1953 to 1961 and the First Lady of the United States from 1969 to 1974. While her husband, Richard Nixon, was president, Pat promoted volunteerism both at home and abroad, visiting over 30 U.S. states and 50 countries.
