Wilbur Mills
United States, 1909 - 1992
He represented Arkansas’ 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1937-1977 when he chose to retire after his involvement in a DWI scandal. He was the powerful chair of the House Ways and Means Committee for 17 years. He was later treated for alcoholism and helped establish an alcohol treatment center attached to the University of Arkansas.
