H. R. Gross
United States, 1899 - 1987
Harold Royce Gross (1899-1987), U.S. congressman, was born in Arispe, Iowa. He served in World War I and was a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism at Columbia. He worked as a reporter and radio news commentator from the 1920s to the 1940s. He was a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1968, and was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-first and ten succeeding Congresses, 1949 to 1971.
