Abe Fortas

United States, 1910 - 1982
Supreme Court Justice Abe Fortas (1910-1982) was an attorney, public official, and presidential adviser. In 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson appointed Fortas to the United States Supreme Court. Fortas resigned this post in 1969 in the wake of conflict-of-interest and financial controversies.
