Alexander Hamilton fought in the American Revolution; he is regarded as one of the country's founding fathers. Hamilton was a strong advocate of the Constitution's ratification and served as one of the New York's delegates to the Constitutional Convention from 1788 to 1789. In 1789, Hamilton was appointed by George Washington as the first Secretary of Treasury and is credited with the creation of the national bank.
