Yitzhak Rabin
Israel, 1922 - 1995
He was an Israeli politician, statesman and general. He was the fifth prime minister of Israel. Rabin has become a symbol of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. He was awarded the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize for his role in the creation of the Oslo Accords, along with Yasser Arafat and Shimon Peres. He was assassinated the next year by an extremist who opposed the accords.
