Ramsey Clark was appointed Assistant Attorney General of the Lands Division by John F. Kennedy in 1961. Following the completion of his term in 1965, Clark served as Deputy Attorney General for the next two years. In 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson appointed him U.S. Attorney General for the duration of his administration.
