Physical DescriptionPair of earrings with matching bracelet (PP.27.1). Each is a square divided in quadrents; two are silver, two are tiger eye jade, one red and one green. Screw back. Stamped on back "Las Rastillo Taxco" with an Aztec head and "Hecho en Mexico" below.
Historical NoteThese ]earrings and matching bracelet were a pre-presidential gift to Lady Bird Johnson from Mrs. Eva Lopez Mateos, the wife of President Adolfo Lopez Mateos of Mexico.

Custodial History NoteThis item was a gift from a foreign official to Vice-President Lyndon B. Johnson during the Kennedy Administration. It was received through the Executive Office and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
