Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ holds an open bird cage ("6-Nation Goodwill Mission") to release two men (“Cooper” and “Conrad”) wearing space suits who fly out the window flapping their arms. Caption: “Birds of Peace”. Artist signature lower left: "Bill Roberts”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: "Three of a kind - Bill Roberts".
Historical NoteCharles “Pete” Conrad and Gordon Cooper were two astronauts that went into orbit Gemini V in August 1965.
As vice-president, Johnson went on many good-will trips to 33 countries.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
