Physical DescriptionPhysical DescriptionBracelet. Gold identification bracelet for Patrick Lyndon Nugent. Solid center band is curved in cross-section. "Patric [sic] Lyndon" is stamped on the front. "Nugent" is stamped on the back. The "e" is double-stamped. All letters are unevenly placed. The bracelet is completed with heavy gold chain on either side of the center bar. Circular spring clasp. Stamped on reverse with stylized image of gold scale. Presented during informal visit to the White House September 26, 1967.
Historical NoteThis gold i.d. bracelet was given to Patrick Lyndon Nugent by His Excellency Hamani Diori, President of the Republic of Niger, and Mrs. Diori during an unofficial visit to the White House on September 26, 1967. President Johnson’s grandson, Patrick “Little Lyn” Nugent, was just 3 months old at the time of the gift.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to the President, First Lady or member of the First Family during President Johnson's term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 20, 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
