Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. In a room ("Ye Olde Nuclear Club"), LBJ and two men (identifiable as Charles de Gaulle and Harold Wilson) are shocked as the doorman announces the arrival of a woman (identifiable as Indira Gandhi) ("India"). In background, a man (identifiable as Andrei Gromyko) peers over the door and another man (identifiable as Mao Tse-Tung) clings to his atom bomb. A small piece of paper “Copley Newspapers” adhered to lower right. Caption: “It's a Lady!”. Artist signature lower right: "Bob Stevens”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower center: "To our president with best wishes Bob Stevens”.
Historical NoteIn 1967, India began developing nuclear weapons. India would later detonate its first nuclear bomb in 1974. At that time, the other nuclear powers were the United States, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, France, and China.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
