Historical Note
World War II, like all wars, resulted in the creation of many slang terms. When soldiers returned home after the war, many of their children, such as the boy in this cartoon, adopted some of these terms and they became incorporated into the larger vocabulary.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
