Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: "For President Johnson, most sincerely Bill Crawford".
Historical NoteOn March 8, 1965, Soviet Union astronaut Aleksei Leonov did the first space walk. On June 3, 1965, Ed White did the first American space walk, demonstrating a narrow lead for the Soviet Union in the space race as of 1965, when this cartoon was made.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
