Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. A dejected, beat-up, and bandaged boxer (“Fortas”) slumps in the corner of a boxing ring as the manager, LBJ, talks to him, shaking his finger. Broken glasses, fallen dentures, and a cigar lie on the floor in front of him. Caption: “Stay in There, Abie Boy, They Can't Intimidate ME!”. Additional text at lower right: “by Charles G. Werner The Indianapolis Star”. Artist signature lower right: "Werner”.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
