Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ looks at a painting of a man (“George Washington”) in the snow (identifiable as Valley Forge). LBJ says "At least he had 'em working WITH him". He holds a newspaper ("Fulbright, Morse Blast LBJ's Vietnam Stand"). A man (identifiable as Wayne Morse) on TV tears a paper ("Win Policy"). Caption: “White House Reflections”. Artist signature lower right: "Pap Dean The Shreveport Times 2-20-66”.
Historical NoteJ. William Fulbright was a Democratic senator from Arkansas. He was the head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and supported detente policies. He became one of the loudest critics of the Johnson administration’s Vietnam policy.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
